My husband was so excited when he opened the package containing the Electric Motors Catalyst from Tinkering Labs. As a math and science teacher, he loves this kind of stuff, and so do our sons.
This kit is filled with over 50 components including real motors, real hardware and real wood. In addition there is a pack of 10 Challenge Cards to inspire kids to design, build, test and share their own inventions.
Check out our video below to see this kit in action:
Tinkering Lab’s website is filled with great content like 16 Inventions in 1 Minute. You can also check out the creations of Young Inventors and The Electric Motors Catalyst Challenges.

I learned that there is no wrong way to use the kit.
I would love to say that the best thing is that this can be done so many different ways to recreate a new creation each time. It’s very useful for learning and looks like so much fun!
Love that it can be used over and over and add other similar parts to create even bigger products – The Electric Motors Catalyst is not a one-time activity or a single project—it’s meant to be made and unmade and remade in as many ways as kids can imagine
My grandson would like the Catalyst 10-Pack
I like that there are over 50 parts and you can build robots with this kit.

The catalyst 10 pack is something that my kids would like
I love it. I learned the recognizable parts are used so kids can relate them to the real world.
I think it’s a great idea to have Safety Glasses available at the same site. Kids need to learn personal safety at the same time as hey learn other things.

My granddaughter would enjoy the Catalyst 10 pack.
As an engineer who homeschools his kids I love all of it. I really like those little challenge cards. I think too often our society focuses on STEM when we should really be driving innovation and creativity in all fields if we do that STEM would grow on its own along with other fields.
I like that it is an evergreen kit and is made to be made and remade again and again.
