Individuality makes us special. Childhood is a time when many children struggle with that individuality. Even though that specialness can be an asset in adulthood, it can feel like a hindrance in childhood. Helping our children celebrate what makes them special is so important. As a parent, I think helping our children recognize their individuality as an asset is essential to their self-esteem and image of themselves.
