How To Burn More Body Fat and Lose Pregnancy Weight Fast! #PostNatalFatBurner

Pregnancy weight gain and postnatal weight loss are subjects that most moms can relate to.  It’s amazing how weight gain and subsequent weight loss can vary so much from pregnancy to pregnancy. There are some of my 5 full term pregnancies where I gained very little weight and others I gained a lot.  With my 5th pregnancy I only gained 13 lbs and was less coming home from the hospital than before I conceived.  With my first pregnancy I was 20 lbs underweight when I conceived and  gained around 4o lbs. The day after I delivered, I weighed myself in the hospital and was already down 20 lbs!  Since I had been underweight, I left the hospital at a normal pre-pregnancy weight.

With my second pregnancy, I gained about 35 or so pounds but I remember I had to jump-start the weight loss with major diet changes and fat burning workouts.  When I started losing, it came off really fast. In fact, it seemed my metabolism went into overdrive and I kept losing weight no matter what I ate.  I ended up losing too much and was back down to the 20 lbs under weight mark.  With my 3rd I only gained about 30 lbs which was the least of all to that point and the baby was almost 9 lbs.  I remember taking him for his two-week check up in my prepregnancy jeans.

My fourth was almost like my second in that I had to work harder to lose the weight but I also was not in my 20s any longer.  The 5th like I said was easier but I still wanted to lose more weight so I started an exercise and food plan that worked for me and lost about 20 more pounds.

If you are trying hard to lose pregnancy weight, there is something that may help you get rid of the baby weight faster than diet and exercise alone.  FitTea’s PostNatal Fatburner is a 100% natural supplement that is safe to use even when breastfeeding.  After you give birth you go through so many emotions and physical changes.  It can be a very challenging time, adjusting to a new baby, not sleeping well, not eating well and hormones running wild can make you feel worse about the weight you need to lose.

FitTea PostNatal Fat Burner

If you looked into herbal or other weight loss supplements they may have a warning that they are not safe or should not be taken if you are breastfeeding your baby.  FitTea’s PostNatal Fatburner  is not only safe but increases your mild supply.  In fact if you are breastfeeding and taking FitTea’s PostNatal Fatburner you are giving your post baby body a 1,2 Punch!  Since breastfeeding burns calories, taking the supplement can double the amount of fat you are burning.

One of the other benefits of the PostNatal Fatburner is that it increases milk supply and healthy antibodies for baby.  That means it can help build your baby’s immune system while it increases lactation and lets you burn more fat.   There are no stimulants like caffeine or anything hazardous to the health of your child.  The supplement is safe, effective and 100% natural.  It will increase your energy levels and is a thermogenic fat burner. Before starting anything new it is wise to check with your doctor.

Would you like to win some  PostNatal Fat Burner from FitTea?  Then just enter the giveaway below for your chance.  Good luck!!!

First Baby Born After Womb Transplant Inspiration For Women With Uterine Infertility

September 2014 in Sweden, a baby boy was born, everyday occurrence I know, but not so with this birth.  Vincent was born to a mother who was unable to carry a child because of uterine infertility.  Uterine infertility describes when a woman is born without a uterus or had her uterus removed. In the past women who experienced this were told there was no way they could carry and give birth to their own child.  That is no longer true.  Vincent’s mother was the recipient of a womb transplant and is thrilled with her miracle baby and the fact she was able to experience being pregnant with her own child.  There have been 2 babies born since Vincent that were the result of the same procedure.

The surgeon and pioneer of womb transplants is Dr. Mats Brannstrom in Sweden. Dr. Brannstrom says that there are other womb transplant patients pregnant now and they expect the birth of more babies in the upcoming months. Brannstrom was inspired back in 1998 in Australia after removing the uterus of a young woman with cancer. He remembers having to tell her that while she would be cancer free, she would not be able to carry a pregnancy.  The woman asked about the possibility of transplanting her mother’s uterus into herself.

Dr. Mats Brannstrom

Dr. Mats Brannstrom

The idea set Brannstrom off to begin a research project in Sweden. After successful transplants and subsequent pregnancies in animals, Brannstrom felt the chance for success in humans was good.  In 2012 the first 2 transplants were performed on two women, one born without a uterus and the other who had to have her uterus removed due to cervical cancer. In these first 2 transplants the uterus was donated by the patient’s mother. Following  the transplant women must wait a period of  at least 12 months before in vitro fertilization (IVF) can be performed.

The mother of the first baby born after a uterus transplant did so with a 61-year-old womb donated by a family friend. The 36-year-old was one of  9 women who underwent the transplant led by Dr. Brannstrom.  The family friend is the mother to 2 children.  12 months after surgery, the patient underwent IVF using her egg and her partners sperm, 9 months later a healthy baby boy named Vincent (below) was born.

One may question how a 61-year-old uterus could support a healthy pregnancy, but as an obstetrician on the uterus transplant team explained, there is evidence that a 70-year-old uterus will function like a 20-year-old uterus. It’s not the age of the uterus but the eggs that matter.

Vincent’s mother, who does not wish to be identified, was admitted to the hospital for preeclampsia at 31 weeks. Vincent was delivered by C-section less than 24 hours later.  Even though he was early, he was healthy and is doing well.  The parents understand that Vincent’s birth has been an inspiration to many other women who have uterine infertility.

So what do you think?

16 Reasons I’m Blessed to be the Mother of Sons!

As bloggers we have a voice, it can be one that helps or one that hurts.  Many times bloggers intentionally create content that will stir controversy.  As they say, “any publicity is good publicity.” Blog comments are gold and outrageous posts can go viral and create enormous traffic.

Yesterday, there was a post and I will not reference it with a link, I truly believe it needs no further attention.  It created a bit of outrage as the blogger posted how she was so happy she would never have a son. The post was a  list of reasons why, from not having to talk about penises to pee on the bathroom floor.  At the end there was a call to action for all mothers who were happy to be “son free” to comment.

It was pretty bad and I found zero humor in it.  I was not alone judging by the two hundred or so comments that called her out.  Many said that since she just has one child, a girl, who has not hit puberty, she has no idea what she is talking about.  Most of the people commenting had children of both sexes and still found her post highly offensive.  As a mother of both sexes, I found it offensive, a tad bitter, and not at all humorous.  I openly pointed this out both on the site and on her personal Facebook page where she posted a link to the article.  I just found it to be something totally unnecessary and created to draw attention, albeit negative to herself and her post.

Normally, I ignore this stuff, but could not help commenting on such a derogatory post toward  sons.  She also has no experience to speak, all she knows is being the mother of a daughter.  That’s all she knows, she can “know of boys” but that is not the same as being a mother to a son.  When I pointed this out, she responded that having grown up with a brother and being married to a man she was more or less qualified  to give her opinion.

I grew up with 3 brothers,  I’m married to a man and  it’s no way close to holding your newborn son for the first time.  It’s an entirely different experience from parenting a daughter and a bond that is nothing at all the same.  Not saying one is better or worse, as all children are miracles and I am thankful to be the mother of both sexes. However, being the mother of a son is not all about penises, pee on the bathroom floor or circumcision.  Not all parents have to go “round and round” over the cut or uncut issue either.  Let me tell you my experience of being the mother of a son.

sons

It is the birth of a protector

It is a handful of dandelions delivered in a dirty hand

It is the little treasures he brings you because he loves you

sons 1

It is the laughter you share over your adventures

It is the sparkle in his eye when he introduces you to all his preschool friends because you are his world.

sons 8

It is the way he snuggles when you are reading to him

It is all the times he asks what things were like when you were a kid

It is about his endless collection of super hero costumes that he wears 24/7

sons 7

It is about how much the younger sons look up to their older brothers

sons 3

sons 6

It is about pride so huge when you see them stand up for what they believe in

It is how your heart swells when others tell you what great young men they are or how they helped someone

It is the pride you have when you see the man he is becoming

sons 2

sons 5

It is about the ability to build them up to be the best men they can be

It is imagining what it will be like when they become husbands and fathers

It is about hoping you don’t cry but knowing you will when you dance with them at their wedding

It is about holding on and letting go

sons 9

It is about all of this and so much more.

Thank God I was blessed to be the mother of four sons.

Luma Comfort HC12B Humidifier Review-Give Dry Winter Air The Boot

Luma Comfort Logo

With winter weather comes dry air, dry skin and chapped lips.  This can make us very uncomfortable and even miserable.  If you get sick with the cold or flu  and have a cough, dry air in your home can have you losing sleep by exacerbating the issue and have you up coughing all night.  Dry winter air can cause stuffy sinuses, make allergies worse and lead to headaches.  We need to replace the moisture in the air.

I just went through this recently in my home.  I had a very bad bout with a sinus infection and then a cough that kept me up almost every night for over a week as a result.  I could literally feel my nasal passages and throat drying up while I was trying to sleep, my cough got worse and I woke up with a terrible sore throat and laryngitis.  I had to get some moisture in the air and fast.

Enter the Luma Comfort HC12B ultrasonic cool mist humidifier.  Now, this humidifier not only keeps the air moist and comfortable, it looks great!  Available in black or white it has a sleek and slim vase design that  just fits in with home decor.  Designed to cover rooms up tp 650 square feet make it perfect for medium and large rooms.

Luma Comfort Piano

This humidifier was so easy to get up and running right out of the box.

My husband filled the tank up, screwed the demineralization cartridge into the water tank cover and then screwed the cover on.

You let sit it for a few minutes and then plug in.  You can use the attachments to create 3 different height settings so it will be the perfect height whether you place the unit on the floor or table.

When you turn it on a musical chime will sound and that means the unit is in standby mode.  Press the power button and the unit will turn on at the lowest setting.  To increase the mist volume you just press and hold the power button and you will hear the musical tone which lets you know that it is increasing.  A visual changing of the light from blue to white will also signal that the mist volume is increasing toward the highest level.

Luma Comfort button

Luma Comfort mist

Decreasing the volume once it has reached the highest  setting is easy too. Press the power button, the musical chime will sound and the light will change from white to blue as it cycles back to the lowest setting.  If you find the ideal setting, the unit will remember and as long as it is not unplugged, will return to that setting when turned on.  Unplugging the unit returns it to the default settings.  The humidifier also comes with a matching remote control that operates the unit up to 65 feet away.  When the tank is low on water it will beep and if not filled the light on the front will blink red until the tank is filled.  On its lowest setting it will run for 45 continuous hours. This humidifier operates with a demineralization cartridge that lets you use any kind of water.  Distilled water will keep the unit running in peak condition longer and eliminate white dust.

I just love this humidifier!  From the first day I used this, I could feel a difference.  It helped me breath better, I didn’t  feel like my nasal passages were dry and my cough was so much better.  Since using it, I have not noticed the sinus pressure and pain that I suffered with for so long.  It truly does eliminate dust particles and the table I have it on usually shows dust like crazy but since placing the humidifier on it, there is no visible dust! I had the humidifier on its highest setting for these pictures because I really want to get rid of the dry air as quickly as possible.  Once the air quality was better I used it on a lower setting. If you are looking for something to improve the air quality in your home, take a look at the Luma Comfort HC12B ultrasonic cool mist humidifier.  I am certain that you will be breathing a lot easier if you do.

How To Survive Winter Travel With Kids & Safety 1st, Advance SE 65 Air + Convertible Car Seat Giveaway!!!

safety1st_logo_trans

The holidays may be over but Winter travel is in full swing.  As the temps get colder many families decide to motor south for some fun in the sun and escape the winter chill.  Schools seem to know this too and many have a winter break carved out for families to do just this.

I thought this post from Safety 1st Consumer Safety Experts on “How to Survive The Holiday With Kids?” would be applicable for any kind of family getaway this winter season.  After reading, be sure and enter the giveaway to win a Safety 1st, Advance SE 65 Air + Convertible Car Seat!

safety 1st-St. Germain Car SEat- Winter Travel

According to AAA last year 94.5 million people were on the roads, train tracks or in the skies during the holiday season.  That’s a lot of people! Then add your own kids into the mix of congestion and for some it can mean holiday headaches.  However, Safety 1st has some tips to help fight some of those headaches this season.

1.      Avoid peak travel days –Try not to fly or drive the days immediately before and after the actual holiday.  Those are the busiest travel days. However, if you fly or take a train you might save money by traveling on the actual holiday, the roads are less congested too.

2.      Prepare your child for the trip – Holiday parties can be overwhelming with sensory overload.  Especially for young children it’s good to talk about the upcoming trip days even weeks in advance.  This will help him or her get excited about the journey.  Show photos of family members or friends your child has not met yet, this way the new face might be a little familiar on arrival.

3.       “Are we there yet?” – To help avoid that dreaded phrase an hour into your six-hour trip reserve a bag just for the kids, include books, toys, diapers a change of clothes and snacks.  Pre-load a tablet or smartphone with kid friendly apps or games. If you are driving keep all necessary items such as wipes, hand sanitizer or tissues easy to reach in a second – there are times you may not want to be digging through the bottom of a bag for such items. The Safety 1st Car Door Sanitation Station is a great solution.

4.      Car Seats – If you are flying check to make sure your car seat is FAA certified. If it’s not clearly labeled contact the manufacture. For parents with older children the Safety 1st BoostAPack can double as a kid survival kit, it’s FAA certified, and will fit in the plane overhead bin.

If you are driving make sure your car seat is installed correctly. If it’s been awhile since you visited a car seat check, it’s recommended to check your seat with a Certified Child Safety Technician in advance of your trip. Safercar.gov is a great resource.

5.      Prepare the guest room – If your child will be sleeping in a Play Yard during the trip, use that for bed or nap time the entire week before. This will help him or her get used to a new sleep environment.  Also if your infant or child sleeps better in a dark room or tends to wake up early with the morning light, bring garbage bags or dark fabric to tape over windows.

Safety 1st is sponsoring a giveaway on Mommy Ramblings!  One lucky blog reader will win an Advance SE 65 Air + Convertible Car Seat! . Thank you  for the review product and for sponsoring this fantastic giveaway on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to US residents.

starkidslogo

The day before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year!  If you are traveling over the river and through the woods by car, boat, plane or train with kids, bring lots of activities.  Little ones have a harder time gauging the time it takes and lucky us if they are great sleepers in the car, but we are sure to hear at least 10 “Are we there yet?” questions. Having fun things they can do in the car can eliminate at least 5, maybe even 6 of those.

The Snack & Play Travel Tray is ideal for traveling and it is perfect to use with your car seat, on airplanes and even strollers.
