Our whole family loves books. I love real books but I am also embracing eBooks that I can read on my iPad more than I thought. My kids like it that I have some children’s books on there too and they will look as it as a fun treat when we read an eBook. When you join Storia you get five free eBooks. You can also organize your Storia eBooks by having an age appropriate shelf for each child and they will have their books in one spot. You just create an account and then you can go on and buy an eBook and it will go right into your account.

The first eBook I ordered was Good Boy, Fergus! and it was only a little because Fergus is a West Highland White Terrier just like our Zoey. “Pigs in Pajamas” by Maggie Smith Review and Giveaway!!!

Pigs in Pajamas like to have parties and eat lots of pizza topped with pickles, then they like to form pyramids, play piano and with pinatas and much more. This book is all about some adorable pigs at a slumber party and all words beginning with P. These pigs keep going with lots of letter P fun until they are pooped. My little guys loved Pigs in Pajamas by Maggie Smith when we read it recently and added it to our collection. It is a wonderful book for preschoolers and you can use it as a springboard for talking about how the letter P sounds and all words beginning with that perfect P.

At Penelope Pig’s sleepover party, six pigs in pj’s eat pizza and pasta, pound a pinata, pin the tail on the pony, prance to piano, and then form a precarious pyramid—collapsing, of course, into a squealing pig pile!

Maggie Smith combines rollicking rhymes and infectious alliterations to make a perfectly pleasing book filled with fun and the letter P. And while there are scads of P words in the text, the art has even more—the pictures are filled with more than 75 objects beginning with the letter P for young readers to find. The playful pictures also introduce other preschool concepts, such as colors, shapes, patterns, and counting.

Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser Review and Giveaway!!!

I have said it before and I will say it yet again, I am a germophobe! Things that really creep me out are community towels for drying hands in the kitchen or bathroom. I will just keep my hands wet if all that is available in someone’s bathroom is a community towel. Major yuck factor for me. I know perhaps it is not a green thing to do using paper towels, but it is one thing I don’t compromise on. However, with a paper towel roll on one of those vertical stands next to the kitchen sink, gross things can still happen. It is easy for the towels to become wet from any splashing in the sink or even have the whole bottom get soaked creating a germy wet mess of towels. The second thing is when your paper towels are exposed like that germy hands have a way of touching the whole roll as they try and tear off their sheet.

You can imagine my joy when asked to do a review for the Innovia, Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser. I was sent a stainless steel model which coordinates great with our kitchen and appliances. My husband was able to easily install the unit and I jut love the way it looks and how protected my paper towels are from grimy hands. When you need a towel you just wave your hand in front of the sensor and out comes your towel, need more, just keep your hand there. If you accidentally release too many, the machine just sucks the clean unused towels back in the unit so no wasting. I just love this dispenser and it keeps the towels off my countertop It is super easy to replace the towels and they work with just about every brand. Right now we have a Sam’s Club brand of paper towels in the unit and it works great.

Elmer’s Craft It Crafting Kit Review and Giveaway!!!

I really like to craft, unfortunately I do not have as much time as I would like to do it. With a slight addiction to Pinterest that I can guess that many of you may have as well, it gives me lots of inspiration. I was just saying to my daughter the other night, if they had Pinterest and You Tube tutorial videos years ago I would have tried and attempted so much more. I think it’s wonderful how these sources have inspired us and given us the confidence we would not have had just reading it in print form. This year I made a lot of salt dough ornaments. What I did was make enough so that they kids would have their own advent tree that they would hang the handmade ornaments on each night. I wrapped them all and then pasted numbers on the packages. It was really nice that I got to make the ornaments with them. I also made Christmas tree salt dough ornaments with the fingerprints of all 7 of us. I then made some adorable and keepsake hand-print salt dough ornaments for the little guys. Helping me with my crafting this year was Elmer’s.

Elmer’s sent me a spectacular Craft It kit full of $150 of their great products. I mainly used the Paint Pens to embellish the salt dough ornaments and other crafts like the coasters and the glass Christmas ball ornaments. The paint pens are super easy to use and come in different point size tips so you can use fine when writing and for detail work and larger sizes for other paint crafts. My next project to use them for are river rocks. I have collected an entire huge bucket of river rocks and plan to apint them and of course I will show you the results.

The X-ACTO products I plan to try by first using them to cover some wood letters for the kid’s playroom. I also want to do some type of door decoration with scrapbook paper and wood hearts for Valentine’s Day. The next big project I want to try is cutting fabric to cover some kid’s chairs and decoupaging it. I have seen this done and it is gorgeous and the X-ACTO products will come in so handy for cutting the fabric pieces.

Little Pim Fun With Languages DVD Review and Giveaway!!!

We recently tried the Little Pim Italian For Kids: Eating and Drinking DVD. Like all of Little Pim’s DVD it contains 5-minute episodes to accommodate a young child’s attention span. My little ones were very interested in the DVD and started to pick up on it right away. I think that it is great that it is not overwhelming and so therefore kids find it easier to absorb. Little Pim offers so many different languages and their DVDs can be purchased alone and in gift sets.
