I was recently asked to do a review on Squeem’s Miracle Vest.  I was thrilled.  As the mother of 5, I can use all the help I can get.  I recently lost 14 lbs and so I was eager to try this out.  I really like that it is cut out around the bra area.  I really do not like when shapewear compresses you there and makes your whole shape look weird.  I was impressed with the material and weight of vest.  It actually felt like neoprene.  It has two rows of hook and eye closures.  I was able to put it right on and fasten it without a problem on the second set of fasteners.

I have a couple of herniated discs in my lower back, so I will tell you, for the support alone, this vest is great.  If you are not used to wearing shapewear it is advised you start by only wearing this vest 1 hour the first day, 2 the second and so forth, until you are comfortable wearing it 8 hours.  I have had it on all day and I love it.  It is not visible under my clothing and it gives me a sleek, smooth look even under fitted knit shirts.  No lumps, bumps, muffin tops or bra lines.

I took a long look in the mirror and it really makes a big difference.  I have a lot of shapewear, but I have to say this is one of the best pieces I have ever tried. Scrappynaps Reusable Fabric Placemat Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Recently, I was sent a Scrappynaps Placemat to review.  Scrappynaps are reusable fabric placemats that conveniently hold a matching napkin and utensils (utensils not included). These placemats roll up easy and have an attached elastic band to secure them.  I like keeping them in the diaper bag because they roll up small and when we are out eating, I can put them down and my kids can eat on them.  They are messy, especially my two-year-old and I hate to see his food touching a public table, so this mat helps contain most of his food. They come in great prints, I chose the “Beam Me Up” and my son loves it. Scrappynaps take up very little room when they are rolled up, so they are very portable.  I think they would make great stocking stuffers so we are adding them to the Stocking Stuffer section of our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

A Toy Garden, Multicolored Beeswax Candle Making Kit Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I remember having candle kits when I was younger and making them with my mother.  They were the kind that you needed to be older and have an adult with you, because the wax had to be melted on the stove and things would get very hot.  We made some great memories and loads of floating candles, that we would light on the lake on the 4th of July and throughout the Summer.  While I enjoyed the candle making, it was not for small children and it was messy.

Recently, A Toy Garden sent me their Multicolored Beeswax Candle Making Kit for review.  Now this kit is great because you can do it with even the youngest children.  As long as they can roll they are good to make candles.  I had so much fun making these with my 4-year-old.  I did the cutting with a scissors and a pizza cutter which worked really well.  We talked about the colors, textures, shapes, and other concepts all while making the candles.  He was so proud, I let him choose colors, shapes, height and he had so much fun.  He was the best roller,  I really love this kit because it is so simple and I saw how much my son loved being big enough to make something like a candle. Definitely much less messy than melting wax and pouring wax.  This would be a great craft to do with scout troops, in the classroom or how about a birthday party activity where everyone can make their own candle.

If you are a regular reader of Mommy Ramblings, you will remember we did a review on Zylie’s good bear friend Shen the Panda.  We are back again with a review of Zylie.  I am so impressed with this bear and all of her great accessories.  Everything is so well made, I could easily see this Zylie set costing twice or three times the price it is.  The Zylie Bear Kit comes with Zylie, her signature flounce top, skinny jeans and white coat which is lined in an orange satin. Over her shoulder she carries her orange tote with her passport, map and diary.  All of her clothes are totally removable and you can purchase different outfits for her if you wish. Also included is the first book in the Zylie series.  Mommy Ramblings loved Shen and she loves Zylie.  We are adding them to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.
