One of our summer day trips recently took us to Brick Fest Live at the Meadowlands Expo Center in New Jersey. Our kids are huge LEGO fans, so this was something they were really looking forward to. We arrived at the center for one of the 4 hour sessions.
When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a full size Woody from Toy Story figure made entirely out of LEGO bricks. We looked at amazing LEGO structures of all kinds-motorized, glow-in-the-dark and one of a kind creations like the full size portrait of Bonnie Raitt.
Then they tried some hands on fun in the huge pit of red LEGO bricks of every shape and size. My kids loved sitting in a sea or red LEGO bricks and building structures they could then leave for all to see on a display table.
There was a LEGO brick character to take pictures with, LEGO miniature golf, free build areas where you could design your own creations on vertical panels adding to a LEGO billboard of design. Build creations and add them to the LEGO City. Build a race car then race against others. There was a section for little LEGO lovers that featured multiple sit and build play space filled with single color Duplo blocks.
Of course there were vendors where you could find all kinds of minifigures or build your own, find that rare figure you were looking for and even a bargain LEGO club deal that we could not pass up. Our kids had a great time and came home with some custom minifigures, a Hulk LEGO, the T-Shirt, backpack, and LEGO building sets and accessories deal.
If you have LEGO lovers big or small and have the opportunity to attend Brick Fest Live you will not be disappointed. Have you been to a LEGO Brick Fest Live event? If so, I would love to hear about your experience. Please tell me about it in the comments. If you are planning a trip I would love to hear that as well too.
