Zoomer has a floppy tongue and soft furry tail. Zoomer is full of energy and as you can see in my video above, I would not classify Zoomer as a quiet toy. Zoomer will delight kids with playful yips, yaps and yelps and will keep going until he needs to be charged. Zoomer has a rechargeable battery that you charge via a mini-USB to USB charger which comes with Zoomer.

A back button will let you change modes and a microphone on your doggie’s back will let you give Zoomer voice commands. You can even give Zoomer a new name that he/she will respond to. In the manual you will find special voice commands to make Zoomer do things like dance, play dead and more. When you give Zoomer a name you will be able to unlock even more tricks!

Play Doh Ruined Christmas? Parents Say Sweet Shoppe Cake Mountain Playset’s Penis Shaped Extruder is Obscene!!!

My Facebook feed was filled the last day or so all about some obscene Play Doh toy that is included in the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Cake Mountain Playset. Apparently the tool that is supposed to be used for cake decorating to dispense icing resembles another type of tool. Reports of outraged parents who claim the playset with its phallic shaped icing dispenser looks like a penis and is inappropriate for children. The two-part icing extruder’s picture has been blasted all over Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and more. There are even reports that Hasbro removed parent comments on their Facebook page which outraged the already furious parents even more.

In a statement posted on their Facebook page Tuesday, Hasbro said, “We have heard some consumer feedback about the extruder tool in the Play-Doh Cake Mountain playset and are in the process of updating all future Play-Doh products with a different tool. Should any consumer want a replacement extruder for this item, they can contact Hasbro’s Customer Service Department at 800-327-8264.”

If you look on Amazon the Playset is still available for sale and people are scooping up the playsets for collectibles. The reviews on Amazon are mostly tongue in cheek and make references to the extruder like the ones below:

It loses a star because while I got this for the kids (and they loved the IDEA of it once they tore off the wrapping paper), my wife has been keeping the ‘shoppe’ for her own use. In fact she’s been in our spare bedroom playing with it all day. When I call through the door to ask when she’s going to be coming out, she keeps telling me she’s off to a good start but she hasn’t ‘finished.’ I just hope next time I get in on the action. Meanwhile, the kids are just heartbroken that their toy is now mama’s toy. Play-Doh’s marketing department really screwed the pooch on this one.

Extruder is elegantly designed and titillatingly fun!

Great fun for young and old! For some reason, the extruder keeps turning up missing. But luckily my wife always ends up finding it. The Play-Doh always comes out of the ribbed extruder with a nice creamy texture. Caution: Don’t push in and out on the extruder too fast or hard, or it will release its contents way too soon.

We picked the Beginner’s Science Lab from the Holiday Flyer for our budding scientists.

The boys were thrilled to see the huge box filled with all kinds of science equipment and materials.

Building a volcano was the first project. It was very simple, there is a non-toxic paper mache mixture that you just add water to and mix with your hands. Then on some wax paper you mold into a volcano shape and form the opening. It must dry for a couple of days before you can have an eruption. Ours is drying but we will take a video and update this post in a couple of days.

Another great experiment, is the liquid layers, using pancake syrup, cooking oil and colored water, the boys observed how the colored water formed a ball that actually passed through the oil layer into the water layer. They thought that was really neat. We have some more experiments lined up for today and they are really looking forward to it.

Green Farm Toys, John Deere Roar and Rumble Tractor Review & Giveaway!!!

My little guys like tractors and they love John Deere Tractors. In our home you will find trucks, cars and tractors of every size and shape, you will also see many of the familiar green and yellow tractors that are none other than John Deere. Still like the old saying, my boys feel, there is always room for one more. Now add some rumble and roar to a toy tractor and you have a happy boy. The John Deere Roar and Rumble Tractor packs a little extra punch and has a simulated exhaust that creates “smoke” from tap water. This smoking exhaust feature is beyond big in our house. Grimm’s Spiel und Holz Design Rainbow Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I recently received a Grimm’s Spiel und Holz Design Rainbow to review. This colorful alder wood rainbow tunnel represents the element of air. Made in Germany and dyed with non-toxic colors, this rainbow can be stacked, used as a bridge, tunnel, fence or cave for toy cars, figures, animals and more. This toy is the winner of the prestigious Spiel Gut Award. My boys just love this rainbow. At first they were interested in stacking it according to size. They soon found they could make tunnels and bridges for their toy vehicles. My 2 year old who is very into his colors right now, loved naming each color in the rainbow. My 4 year old took this toy to bed with him and I think that speaks volumes of how fond he was of it. As a mom I love that it is colored with non-toxic, water-based dyes. I also love that it is a toy that can teach so many concepts and that children of different ages can all take away different lessons from this rainbow. I really like when I find stimulating, safe and educational toys for my kids and this rainbow definitely is one that I recommend.

Diggin Active, NEW Rock ‘n’ Rolla Moo Cow 2 in 1 Rocker/Ride On Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Diggin Active contacted me recently and asked if I would like to review a new product for them. When I saw the Rock ‘n’ Rolla Moo Cow, I said yes in a hurry. This is such a cute toy. The cow itself is inflatable like a rubber ball and they provide the needle you need to pump it up, with a ball or tire pump. They also give you the wrench you need to attach the wheels and that is stored in the base of the cow. They have really thought of everything to help make things easy for assembly. Luke wanted to put the wheels on right away, so we did and this is such a fun scooter type ride on. The cow has soft handles for little ones to hold on as the scoot around. The multi-directional wheels spin 360 degrees for loads of fast scooting fun!!! The base of the scooter is contoured to be furniture friendly in your home. Can be used outdoors and in. Maximum rider weight is 55 lbs.
